The Alec Clegg Studio

Co-Director
Shape the artistic vision, manage rehearsals, and support cast performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with blocking and staging
Support actors through character duality (play characters vs. real selves)
Oversee pacing and tension build
Help manage rehearsals and scene transitions
Commitment Level: High (2-3 rehearsals per week + production week).
Experience Required: Intermediate recommended (prior acting or assistant directing experience helpful)
Best For: A confident theatre student interested in leadership and creative shaping.

Executive Producer
Oversees the overall production logistics and ensures the show happens smoothly within budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget oversight (props, costumes, tech needs)
Liaison with faculty / college administration
Scheduling coordination
Ensuring deadlines are met
Commitment Level: Moderate (weekly planning + production week)
Experience Required: Organised, reliable; prior production involvement helpful but not essential.
Best For: A strong organiser who enjoys leadership without being on stage.
Assistant Producer
Support the Executive Producer with logistics and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Track rehearsal attendance
Coordinate props and costume sourcing
Manage cast communication
Assist during show nights
Commitment Level: Low-Moderate (1–2 meetings per week + show week)
Experience Required: Entry-level friendly. Organisation and communication skills key.
Best For: Students wanting production experience without high pressure.
Set Designer
Design and execute a flexible set that transforms between acts
Key Responsibilities:
Design adaptable staging
Create light and creative spooky staging
Plan quick transitions between acts
Work closely with lighting for mood shifts
Commitment Level: High during build phase + tech week
Experience Required: Creative mindset; basic design or construction experience helpful.
Best For: Art, architecture, or creative tech students.
Production roles

Commitment Level: High during tech week + planning meetings
Experience Required: Some prior lighting desk or theatre tech experience strongly recommended.
Best For: Technically confident student interested in dramatic storytelling through light.
Director of Light
One of the most important technical roles for this production.
Commitment Level: Moderate–High
Experience Required: Basic audio editing knowledge helpful; training can be provided.
Best For: Media, music tech, or film students.
Director of Sound
Sound Operator
Executes sound cues live during performances.
Commitment Level: Low (tech week + performances)
Experience Required: Entry-level possible with training.
Best For: Detail-oriented, calm under pressure students.
Runs the lighting board during performances.
Commitment Level: Low (tech week + performances)
Experience Required: Entry-level possible with training.

Light Operator

We understand that this production may take place during your exams. We have drafted a strategic schedule to work around your exam period. Rehearsals will take place in late April and early May. We will plan ahead to ensure that our team and cast can focus on their studies. We only ask that you are available during show week.
